Phase I - Human Element Architects designed the renovation of CSX's existing 16,000+ sf rail yard maintenance building in Riverdale's CSX Barr Yard. The building contains three engine maintenance bays, administration offices, locker rooms and a break room.

The renovation of the building called for the demolition and replacement of a small portion of the structure and the renovation of the remaining original space. The exterior of the building required metal siding and masonry repairs.

Phase II - A couple of years later, Human Element Architects designed the building addition for CSX Barr Yard's new Purchasing Building next to the maintenance building. The new building totaled 10,000+ sf and included offices, storage, and support spaces.
