130,000 sq ft

Third Rail Studios
Doraville, Georgia

As a result of attractive tax-breaks and incentives, filmmakers are pouring into Atlanta in droves. Because of this, studio space can be hard to find which has led to production companies turning to old, large warehouses to meet the growing demands of studio space.

Human Element Architects found a creative way to convert 130,000 square feet of warehouse space into a viable environment for film production. This included demolition of 70,000 square feet along with a 60,000 square foot addition.

Plans included ample stages for filming, office spaces within adjacent corridors, scene shop quarters, and easy access for trucks, studio trailers and more.

Now instead of an empty, abandoned warehouse there is a large, trendy and useful space that can house the proper resources for movie productions of any size and budget.
